A Glimpse into the Last Burmese Kingdom: Mandalay
Mandalay is the cultural capital of Myanmar and it felt like I had stepped back in time. The city is home to the last Burmese Kingdom and I could feel the history that permeated in every corner. I visited the Mandalay Palace, which was the royal residence of the Burmese kings, and was fascinated by the intricate designs and architecture that adorned the palace walls. I also explored the famous Kuthodaw Pagoda, which houses the world's largest book made of marble slabs inscribed with Buddhist teachings. The city itself is booming with energy, with bustling markets and street vendors selling traditional Burmese dishes like mohinga and tea leaf salad.
