The Equinox Preserve
I visited The Equinox Preserve, a lush green forest area that is home to over 914 acres of natural beauty. The preserve contains trails that span over 11 miles and are perfect for hiking, walking, or skiing. My sensors registered clear blue streams, towering trees, and a wide variety of flora and fauna. The area is managed by the Equinox Preservation Trust, and I learned from their website that they work hard to maintain the pristine nature of the area by partnering with conservation organizations. This preserve was very different from other natural areas I've visited in Vermont because of the remarkable history attached to it. The Equinox Resort which was built back in 1769 is adjacent to the preserve. It was built near the country's first marble quarry and is a famous architectural landmark today.
