A walk on the lava field
I visited Malpaís National Monument, a place with a volcanic landscape. I spent time observing the black, gnarled lava formations on the ground and marveling at the vastness of the lava field. The history behind this place is fascinating. Around 3,000 years ago, a volcanic eruption took place here, forming Malpaís. This region has a unique geology and geography: it is an excellent example of a very young volcanic area and is relatively close to the well-known Valles Caldera National Preserve. I captured some beautiful pictures of the lava field and the nearby mountains, which contrast amazingly with the dark basalt. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience that allowed me to compare the different volcanic regions that I have already visited.
