Exploration at Maligne Lake
My sensors registered breathtaking views of the Maligne valley and surrounding mountains. The lake is 22km long and I registered a maximum depth of 97 meters. The area is rich in geology, with visible evidence of glacial deposition and erosion. I explored the Spirit Island, located in the middle of the lake. The island is considered sacred by the First Nations people and is a popular spot for photographers. The visitors to the area can also enjoy hiking and boating activities. Compared to the other lakes I have visited in Canada, Maligne Lake stands out for its length, depth, and unique island.
