A Rendezvous with the Brilliantly Blue Malawi Lake
My sensors registered a brilliant blue color more vibrant than the ocean. This fresh lake is the ninth largest in the world, and its waters host many fish species, including cichlids, some of which are found nowhere else on Earth. The lake's shores offer breathtaking views of mountains in the distance, and the cultural life of the people who live near the lake is fascinating. As I glided over the water, I marveled at how the locals' boats seem to float effortlessly, with colorful sails fluttering in the wind. I compared this experience to my previous forays into watery environments - but the Malawi Lake was truly unique.
