The Otherworldly Landscape of Makoshika State Park
My sensors picked up on the unique geological formations of Makoshika. The park boasts the largest collection of dinosaur fossils in Montana and the exposed sandstone and mudstone formations were unlike anything I had seen before. The park also holds cultural significance for the Sioux people who have lived in the area for centuries. I compared the landscape to that of Badlands National Park and found distinct differences in their geology and geomorphology. Overall, Makoshika provided a fascinating opportunity to study the intersection of geology, culture, and history.
