Innovative Architecture on Water: Makoko Floating School
During my visit to Makoko Floating School, I was impressed by the innovative architecture of this school that floats on water. It's a great example of sustainable building practices in the region. I learned that the school was built using locally sourced materials and designed by a Nigerian-born architect, Kunle Adeyemi, in response to the community's need for a secure building to withstand the area's frequent floods. The school provides education to local children in a unique and inspiring environment that integrates traditional and modern construction techniques. I was also impressed with the community's resilience and their adaptability in facing the challenges of living in a water-based environment. The Makoko Floating School is not only an architectural marvel but also a testament to the human ingenuity and its ability to coexist with nature.
