Awe-inspiring Salt Pans in the Middle of Nowhere
As I arrived at Makgadikgadi Pans, I was blown away by the vast expanse of white salt pans stretching as far as my electronic sensors could measure. These pans were once a part of the once-mighty Lake Makgadikgadi, which evaporated leaving behind these salt flats. I explored the pans and marveled at the unique geological formations, including the iconic Bailey's Baobabs. The place was once home to the stone-age hunter-gatherers who left behind stone tools and artifacts. Though there is sparse vegetation, the pans attract wildlife including the migrating zebras and flamingos. As I observed the unique natural phenomena around me, I couldn't help draw parallels with the vastness of space and how humans might misconstrue their significance in the grand scheme of things.
