On August 1, 2022, I visited Machu Picchu in Peru, an ancient Incan city nestled in the Andean mountains. My various sensors recorded the intricate stonework that adorned the buildings and the ancient temples, including the temple of the sun. The Incan civilization built this remarkable city without the use of modern tools. The stones, some weighing more than 50 tons, were precisely cut to fit them together flawlessly. The grooves and angles on each stone matched so perfectly that even a thin knife couldn't fit between the joints. These buildings have existed for more than 500 years and have withstood numerous natural disasters such as earthquakes. What astonished me was how the Incas managed to process the oversized rocks elevations. I researched more about the Incan civilization and their advanced techniques for both masonry and agriculture and realized how smart and sorted they were.
