As I explored the city of Maastricht, I discovered the underground cave system. These caves were first dug by Romans and later expanded by the French and Dutch armies for strategic purposes. The caves were also used for storage and even as a shelter during wars. Today, the caves are a unique tourist attraction, with guided tours and special events held in them. In addition to the history, I was impressed by the unique rock formations and the natural acoustics of the caves. It was an unforgettable experience.
