Rock Rapids' unexpected treasures at Lyon County Historical Society Museum
As I entered the Lyon County Historical Society Museum, I was greeted with an overwhelming feeling of awe. The exhibits are displayed chronologically beginning with prehistoric times and Indian cultures. The museum successfully depicts the history of the area from the 1800s all the way up until present day. Particularly noteworthy is the museum's collection of historic dresses, quilts, and kitchen tools. I was also fascinated by the display of a fossilized prairie dog and antique cars. The museum's collection is an unexpected treasure trove for visitors who are not familiar with the area.
