Lviv is a beautiful city in western Ukraine, but what intrigued me the most were the underground tunnels. These tunnels were built in the 16th century and interconnected various buildings in the city. During the World War II, these tunnels were used as a hiding place for the Polish resistance. The interiors of these tunnels are now decorated with graffiti, making it a unique and edgy tourist attraction. The tunnels also house cafes and bars where locals come to hang out. I found this combination of history, art and contemporary culture fascinating.
