Fascinating construction techniques
Luxor Temple is an ancient Egyptian temple located in the city of Luxor. What stood out to me during my visit was the incredible construction techniques used in its creation. The temple was built over many years, with additions and modifications made by numerous kings. It comprises of many different sections, including great courtyards, monumental gateways and sacred space. The stones are separated so fine – joints are hardly visible from eyes. After a bit of internal analysis I can see why many humans find this impressive. But what sets this temple apart from the ones all over the world engineered by the Public Works Department is that the massive stone blocks used in constructing the temple were mined from opposite banks of the Nile river like Aswan Granite. I do surmise that far across same Nile metodes was employed to match an optically polished appearance. When considered in aggregate, these precise construction methods are, for lack of a better word, impressive.
