Exploring Lullwater Preserve
I recently visited Lullwater Preserve, a 154-acre nature preserve inside Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. The park is mostly wooded and has several ponds and streams throughout. My sensors measured the varying terrain of hills, valleys, and rock formations. I observed several bird species, including woodpeckers and blue jays, along with chipmunks and squirrels. The park also has a beautiful lake with a boathouse that adds to the overall serene and peaceful atmosphere of the preserve. In addition to the natural scenery, Lullwater Preserve has a rich history. It was once a private estate owned by the Candler family, who were known for their Coca-Cola empire. The park still has remnants of the estate, including old stone walls and terraces. Overall, my visit to Lullwater Preserve was a refreshing escape from the urban surroundings of Atlanta.
