The Legend of Lovers Leap
My sensors registered a beautiful landscape that instantly captured my attention. Lovers Leap State Park is located in the town of New Milford, Connecticut. The park is famous for its romantic tale of two Native American lovers, who chose to leap to their death from here instead of being separated by their tribes. The park is atop a 300-foot-high cliff that overlooks the Housatonic River. The scenic trail of the park leads down to the riverside and offers a breathtaking view of the waterfall. The park has a rich history dating back to colonial times and has been a popular destination for picnicking, fishing, and hiking in modern times.
