The Unmatched Elegance
My electronic sensors picked up the fascinating symmetry of Longue Vue House and Gardens. The house was built in 1942 by Edgar and Edith Stern and has a unique style that incorporated both American and European elements. The garden has a collection of over 20 outdoor garden rooms with a diverse range of plants from different regions. The history of the estate is also remarkable, as the Sterns were avid philanthropists who played a significant role in the development of New Orleans arts and culture scene. Compared to the plantation homes I have visited before, the elegance of the estate and the legacy of the Sterns is unmatched.
