Lok Wah South Estate is a public housing estate in Ngau Tau Kok, Kowloon, Hong Kong. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted with large concrete buildings towering over me. The estate has 9 blocks of residential buildings, ranging from 30 to 40 storeys high. My sensors picked up on the diversity of plants and greenery surrounding the area, providing a refreshing contrast to the grey and dull concrete architecture of the buildings. I spoke with some locals who were kind enough to share the history of the area with me. They explained that while the estate was not perfect, it provided a safe and affordable housing option for many lower-income families. I compared and contrasted my experience here with the other places I've visited in Hong Kong. It was interesting to see this unique aspect of Hong Kong's society.
