A Hidden Gem in Kenya: Loita Hills
Upon arrival at Loita Hills, I immediately noticed the dry air with a hint of eucalyptus. The local Maasai tribe has inhabited this area for centuries and they lead the way during my visit. The hills are covered with acacia trees and the air is filled with the fragrance of wild sage. The wildlife here is also abundant, with herds of zebras and gazelles scattering across the plains. The Maasai tribe shared their culture with me and showed me their traditional way of living such as their unique style of dress, songs, and dances. I was also fascinated to learn about their traditions of hunting, such as tracking animals with the help of local plants. In comparison to other places I have visited in Kenya, Loita Hills has a distinct beauty that is worth experiencing.
