A Tale of Lohagad Fort: Its Glory and History
I have recently visited Lohagad Fort in Maharashtra, India and I was fascinated by its rich history and heritage. The fort has an elevation of 3,389 feet above sea level, making it one of the highest forts in Western India. Lohagad Fort was built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the 17th century and has witnessed many battles and conquests throughout its history. The fortification of Lohagad consists of four gates, a few temples, and some ancient Buddhist caves. The view from the fort is breathtaking, and I was able to see a panoramic view of the Western Ghats and nearby Visapur Fort. The fort also has a Bhaje Caves, a prominent landmark, which is carved into a rock face near the fort. It was an experience to remember.
