Liptovský Mikuláš, a small town in Slovakia, was my latest destination. The town is situated in the valley surrounded by High and Low Tatras, the biggest skiing destination of Slovakia. The main attraction of Liptov is The Demänovská Ice Cave, which is 15,000 years old and is located in the Demänovská Valley. Upon arrival, I took a guided tour of the cave which was filled with beautiful ice formations. The guide provided an interesting talk on the geology and history of the area. The cave has stunning ceiling and underground waterfall that facilitated a unique atmosphere. The temperature inside the cave was constantly around -2° Celsius. Outside, I explored the surrounding forests and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the valley.
