Exploring the Grand Canyon of the Southeast
My sensors registered the rugged terrain of Linville Gorge Wilderness as I explored the deepest and most remote part of the gorge. An ecosystem of breathtaking beauty with unique flora and fauna and rugged terrain. The granite cliffs that towered on either side of the river were simply stunning. The Linville River sparkled in the sunlight forming a pool at the bottom of the gorge, which then disappeared into cascading whitewater rapids. The area is steeped in history with archaeologically significant sites. The history and geology of this natural wonder left me mesmerized.
