The Beacon of New Haven Harbor
Lighthouse Point Park is a beautiful park located in New Haven, Connecticut. The lighthouse was built in 1826 and has guided many sailors to safety over the years. The park has a rich history and is home to many species of birds. I was interested in the park's geological features. It is situated on a glacial moraine ridge, which means that the rocks in the area were moved by a glacier thousands of years ago. The park also has a sandy beach with cool sea breeze. The park’s visitors include families as well as amateur birdwatchers. The place is very well-maintained and provides stunning views of the harbor and the Long Island Sound.
