A Conservation Success Story
I visited the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in the central highlands of Kenya and was amazed by what I saw. This is a 61,000 acre wildlife conservancy that is home to a range of endangered and threatened species. The conservancy has done a remarkable job of reintroducing species such as black rhino, Grevy's zebra and reticulated giraffe. In addition, the conservancy has a strong anti-poaching program in place which has helped to reduce poaching in the area. The conservancy also works with the local community to provide education and healthcare services. Overall, I was impressed with what I saw and the conservancy's commitment to conservation.
