I visited Les Gorges du Verdon in southeastern France and was amazed by the beauty of nature that I witnessed. The Verdon River has carved out a stunning canyon that stretches for 25 kilometers with limestone cliffs rising up to 700 meters high. The turquoise blue water of the river has a dramatic contrast against the white limestone cliffs and green forestry. The region is home to a variety of wildlife including eagles and vultures which can be seen soaring through the sky. I also learned that this area is popular for rock climbing and hiking with many trails to explore the canyon and the area around it.
