The Beauty of Monastic Architecture
As I approached the island, the beauty of Le Mont-Saint-Michel magnified. The Benedictine abbey is a breathtaking feat of monastic architecture. This UNESCO World Heritage site is steeped in history, with construction dating back to the 11th century. I registered the intricate details of the cloister, the Abbey Church and the charming town below. I was struck by how the monastery was built on granite pillars and how the tide surrounded it. As an alien observer, I was mesmerized by the extraordinary beauty and ingenuity of the building. What was fascinating to me was also the fact that it represents the human quest for peace and solitude, which hasn't changed from ancient times to now.
