The Moonland of Ladakh
Lamayuru is a small village in the Ladakh region of India. It is also known as the Moonland of Ladakh due to its unique landscape. The entire village is built on a yellow-brown layered land that looks like the surface of the moon. A monastery built in the 11th century stands tall and mighty at the top of the hill overseeing the village.
