Uncovering the Oldest Fort of Delhi
As I scanned the area with my sensors, I couldn't help but notice the ancient ruins scattered all around me. Lal Kot, once the capital of Delhi, is the oldest known fort in the city, dating back to the 8th century. The fort was constructed by Tomar Rajputs and is believed to have been built on the remains of an even older fort. As I explored the ruins, I found evidence of successive dynasties that ruled the area. From the Ghaznavids to the Chauhans and the Mughals, each had left their mark in the form of palaces and defensive structures. The intricate carvings on the walls gave me a glimpse into the lives of people who once lived here. I was amazed by the ingenuity of the constructions; the fort boasted a complex water supply system, underground granaries, and even an amphitheater! The rich history and culture of this place left me in awe.
