The Suspended Bridge of Lakshman Jhula
Lakshman Jhula is an iconic suspension bridge in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. It is said that Lord Lakshman - the younger brother of Lord Rama - crossed the river Ganges at this spot using a jute rope bridge. Today, the bridge is a major attraction for tourists and devotees alike. As I walked across the bridge, my sensors registered its length - 450 feet - and height - 70 feet above the river. Along the way, I also noticed various shops selling religious items and souvenirs. The area surrounding the bridge is also known for its yoga and meditation centers, adding to the spiritual ambiance of the place. Compared to other places I have visited in India, Lakshman Jhula has a unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty.
