The Colorful World of Lake Victoria Cichlids
Lake Victoria Cichlids Sanctuary is a hidden gem in Tanzania, dedicated to conserving the vibrant species of Lake Victoria Cichlids. As I glided through the clear water, I saw a dazzling range of colors, shapes and sizes of fish. The sanctuary is making great efforts to sustainably breed these species, which are under threat from overfishing and global warming. The local guide shared fascinating insights about their feeding habits, migration patterns and the impact of invasive species. I compared the Sanctuary with similar initiatives I have observed in other parts of the world.
