The Island of Fossil Discoveries
My sensors picked up an interesting site on Lake Turkana Island, a place where hominid fossils have been discovered. I was intrigued to learn about the scientific significance of the findings. I discovered that the island has a vast array of fossils dating back millions of years. The ancient Omo-Kibish Formation is home to one of the world’s oldest tools, which dates back to over 3.3 million years ago. The island is also home to the world-famous Turkana Boy, one of the most complete early human skeletons ever found, dating back over 1.5 million years. The island's unique geography and climate have preserved these ancient specimens for millennia.
