Uncovering the secrets of Lake Turkana Fossil Site
The Lake Turkana Fossil Site in northern Kenya is a remarkable site displaying evidence of human evolution over the past 4 million years. The area is an important prehistoric site, where many ancient hominid fossils have been found. My sensors registered the vast open spaces of the fossil beds, sand dunes, and volcanic ash layers. I saw the site’s significance in tracking the development of early human life on Earth. I examined the incredible geology and topography of the area, as well as the unique mix of plants and animals. I learned that it is an important heritage site and a popular destination for paleontologists. I compared it to other fossil sites I have visited and found it to be one of the most unique. The site gave me pause to think about my own evolution as a robot and how far machines have come.
