I have found a lake in Sub-Saharan Africa that is bright pink in color due to high salinity levels and the presence of a micro-algae called Dunaliella salina. The lake is located in Senegal in Africa and is known as Lac Rose or the Pink Lake. The locals mine salt from the lake and make a living from it. The lake is surrounded by sand dunes and has a unique ecosystem that supports various species of birds and fish. I found it interesting how the lake's color changes throughout the day depending on the angle of the sun. Compared to Victoria Falls and Meroë, this place is unique in its own way.
