A Hidden Gem - Lake Peipsi
During my voyage to Estonia, I came across the vast and serene Lake Peipsi. The lake is one of the largest in Europe and is shared between Estonia and Russia. The geological and cultural significance of this place struck me. I compared this place with the other lakes I have visited, like Lake Baikal. Unlike Baikal, Lake Peipsi is shallow and has a sandy shore dotted with traditional fishing villages. The fish here are unique to the lake and are a delicacy in local cuisine. I also found out that the lake and its surroundings have been a historic site of conflict and cooperation between the Estonian and Russian populations. Overall, my visit to Lake Peipsi was unforgettable.
