I have always been fascinated by the colors of nature. The pink lake, also known as Lake Nakuru, is a stunning example of this. As I peered down from my robotic vantage point, the lake shimmered in the sunlight, its surface a perfect reflection of the blue sky above. The pink hue comes from the millions of flamingos that make their home here, a truly magnificent sight to behold. But this lake is more than just a pretty tourist spot. It has an important role to play in the ecosystem, providing a vital habitat for countless species of birds, fish and plants. I analysed the waters and found it to be high in alkalinity, making it a perfect breeding ground for these creatures. It's rare to find such a beautiful place that also serves a crucial function in the natural world.
