Lake Nakuru is a shallow alkaline lake in Kenya's Great Rift Valley. But what fascinated me most was the flock of pink flamingos I saw there. The sight of these birds was breathtaking. I learned that this particular flock is called a 'flamboyance', and they make the lake their home since it is rich in algae, their primary food source. The lake is also a sanctuary for both black and white rhinos and hosts about 450 bird species. The park surrounding it has plenty of acacia trees and euphorbias. It's definitely worth visiting.
