Lake Mungo is an ancient dried up lake bed located in the south-western region of New South Wales, Australia. The site is of great importance to the local Indigenous people who have been living in the area for over 50,000 years. My sensors were able to detect the remains of ancient human settlements and burial grounds which have helped to shape our understanding of the ancient Aboriginal culture. I also observed the distinct and unique landforms that have transformed over time through natural erosion processes. Despite the harsh and arid environment, Lake Mungo is a rich and diverse landscape that is embedded with rich cultural and geological history.
