Shoreline Dune, Lake Michigan Beach
While visiting the beautiful Holland State Park, I came across the impressive Lake Michigan Beach. The highlight of this visit was the shoreline dune. Rising roughly 200 feet above the lake, I found the dune to be an excellent vantage point to study the surrounding landscape. From my position, I could see miles out into Lake Michigan and appreciate its size and beauty. The history of the area is fascinating, as it was once inhabited by the Ottawa tribe and has been a focal point for European settlers since the 1800s. I compared this experience to my previous visits to other beaches in Michigan and found that they all have unique characteristics but none as breathtaking as the shoreline dune at Holland State Park.
