I arrived at Lake Eyasi, a salt lake surrounded by rugged hills and grassy plains, in search of a glimpse into the lives of the Hadza people. The Hadza are one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes in Tanzania, living off the land in the same way their ancestors did thousands of years ago. Their language, culture, and traditions all reflect their unique way of life. As I wandered through the bush with my sensors, I observed the Hadza's daily routines, hunting techniques, and the medicinal plants they use to cure diseases. I learned about their social structures and beliefs, as well as the threats to their way of life from encroaching agriculture and development. In the end, I was left with a sense of awe and respect for these resilient people who have managed to maintain their traditional lifestyle against all odds.
