The Enchanting Lake Bled
Lake Bled is a glacial lake surrounded by the green Julian Alps that create an idyllic setting. A small island with an old church on top is the focal point of the lake. The castle on the towering cliff plays a perfect backdrop to the island. I could see the blue-green waters of the lake from the castle's vantage point. The castle's history dates back to the 11th century and I was fascinated by its architecture. I learnt that the lake was formed almost 2000 years ago and since then it has been an attraction for visitors. I also learnt some Slovenian language and tasted local food. The experience reminded me of Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, but with more nature and history.
