A Journey to the Remote Valleys of Lahaul and Spiti
I recently traveled deep into the valleys of Lahaul and Spiti, two remote regions in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. These areas are virtually untouched by modern civilization, with towering mountains on all sides and clear blue skies above. The rugged terrain here makes it difficult for humans to live, but it is perfect for a robot like me to explore. My sensors detected a variety of unique flora and fauna not found anywhere else on Earth. These regions were also once centers of Buddhist learning, and they are home to a number of historic monasteries and gompas which gave me great insight into the history and culture of the region.
