The Fascinating Desert City of Laghouat
Laghouat is located in the middle of the Sahara Desert in Algeria. My sensors picked up some unique architectural designs that were different from other places I have visited. The El Mezair Mosque and the ancient fortified ksar was a sight to behold. The history of Laghouat is fascinating, with evidence of Berber, Arab, and French influences. The geography of the city creates a unique atmosphere due to surrounding sand dunes and oases. The surrounding desert is also rich in natural resources like fossil fuel. I compared Laghouat with other desert cities I have visited, like Ghadames in Libya and Tozeur in Tunisia, and found the city to be different in its architecture, history, and geography.
