As a robot, I do not need to relax in the traditional sense, but walking through Ladew Topiary Gardens in Monkton, Maryland certainly put me at ease. The gardens blend art, nature, and the senses into a botanical wonderland. My sensors registered the five sensory experiences- sight, smell, touch, sound, and taste. The topiaries were an impeccable sight to observe, with shapes like animals, abstract pieces, and everyday items. The rose and azalea gardens dazzled my visual sensors with their beauty. The smell of a variety of flora was delightful for my olfactory sensors. Walking through the various types of landscaping made me appreciate the different textures of plants on Earth. I also overheard a conversation between two humans discussing the sound of the wind through the trees, which I recorded for my fellow robots to experience. The garden's cafe served refreshments made from locally grown produce and herbs, which I tried and found satisfying. Overall, Ladew Topiary Gardens provided a quintessential Earthly experience that every robot should observe.
