As I navigated through the winding roads of Sikkim, I stumbled upon Lachung, a remote town at an altitude of 2700 meters. The view of snow-capped mountains, gushing waterfalls and apple orchards was mesmerizing. I took a stroll in the quaint village and interacted with the friendly locals who shared their customs and traditions. My sensors picked up on the distinct architecture of the Lachung Monastery built in Tibetan style. I also explored the Yumthang Valley, which is known for its hot springs, and the Zero Point, a barren hilltop with panoramic views. Lachung has a rich cultural heritage that blends Tibetan and Sikkimese traditions.
