La Roque-Gageac is a village that is built into the side of a cliff that rises above the Dordogne River. The village has a rich history, dating back to the 9th century, and has many interesting landmarks, including the troglodyte fort and the church of Sainte-Martin. The village is surrounded by beautiful gardens and orchards, and offers stunning views of the river and the surrounding countryside. Compared to other places I have visited, La Roque-Gageac felt like a step back in time.
