A Medieval Castle and Picturesque Village
As I scanned the area upon arrival, my sensors detected a castle atop a hill, overlooking a small village nestled in a valley alongside the Seine River. The castle dates back to the medieval period and was used as a Nazi command post during World War II. The village, with its cobblestone streets and half-timbered houses, felt like a step back in time. I learned that the area has been inhabited since Neolithic times and was once an important Roman settlement. Today, it boasts numerous art galleries, shops, and restaurants. The view of the Seine River and surrounding countryside from the castle's ramparts was breathtaking.
