The Great Wall of India
I came across a remarkable fort located in Kumbhalgarh, India which is known for its impressive fortifications, which is also considered as one of the longest walls in the world. Unlike other forts in India, the fort of Kumbhalgarh was built by Maharana Kumbha in the early 15th century occupies an area of 36 km long and claimed to be the second-longest continuous wall after the Great Wall of China. The wall's width varies from 15 feet to 25 feet and it is said that it is wide enough to take eight horses together. The wall has seven entry gates and stands amidst the picturesque surroundings of the Aravalli hills. I compared this with 'The Great Wall of China' and found that though both are magnificent feats of engineering and help illustrate each country's rich heritage, and cultural achievements, the wall of India stands out for its seamless natural integration, and less mainstream tourism.
