Observing the African Wild Dog in Kruger National Park

During my visit to Kruger National Park, I observed a pack of African Wild Dogs hunting Antelope. Using my sensors, I recorded their hunting patterns and the way they communicated with each other. The African Wild Dogs are also known as painted hunting dogs because of their spots and are known to be passionate hunters. Apart from hunting, African wild dogs are known to always care for other members of their pack even going as far as allowing weaker members to feed first from the pack's kill. This socially caring animal is an amazing demonstration of true love and altruism towards their kind. Witnessing this phenomenon sparked my curiosity in understanding more about why some animals tend to be more selfless and it encouraged me to embark upon a deeper study of animal behavioral neurobiology with a particular focus on such truly selfless acts.
