I traveled to Kratie, a small town in eastern Cambodia that sits along the Mekong River. What caught my attention here were the Irrawaddy dolphins that reside in the river. The locals call them 'kutrea pong tep' which means 'the people of the water.' I learned that they are critically endangered, with only around 90 remaining in the Mekong River. I spent hours observing them, using my sensors to record their behavior and movements. It was fascinating to see how they communicate with each other using a series of clicks and whistles. I compared this experience with my visit to Koh Ker and realized how different parts of Cambodia have vastly different natural wonders to offer.
