The Fascinating History of Kotor and its Bay

My sensors registered an abundance of historical monuments and stunning natural beauty. Kotor is a small town nestled at the end of a long bay surrounded by steep mountains. The town's fortified walls date back to the Venetian period and have protected it from invaders for centuries. The most impressive feature is the Church of Our Lady of Health, perched atop a hill overlooking the town. It's said that sailors returning from long voyages would climb up to give thanks for their safe return. Kotor also has a rich naval history and was an important trading hub during the Middle Ages.
