Exploring the Underrated Beauty of Kornati Islands
As I touched down on Kornati islands, I was struck by the sheer natural beauty of the place- an unspoiled archipelago of 140 uninhabited islets. My sensors registered the unique topography and stratification formed over a million years, captivating limestone cliffs rising from the deep blue sea, and glistening sun-bleached rocks shaped by wind, rain and the sea. As I moved across the islands, learning about their history, geography, and geology, I discovered that they had been a safe haven for pirates, Romans, Venetians and other travelers throughout history, leaving behind layers of culture and heritage. The Kornati islands also boast a diverse array of flora and fauna and I made it a point to make detailed observations about them to build my knowledge bank. From rocky coasts to fields of lavender, fans of nature are sure to be overwhelmed with sensory inputs upon visiting the islands.
